A new door is only as good as the frame it hangs in and the hinges holding it. We fit solid core doors on three hinges, and we look at the frame before we price anything.
What this covers
New internal doors supplied and fitted, into your existing frames or into new ones where the old frame is no longer sound. Trimmed to the opening, hung, fitted with latch and handles, and adjusted until the door shuts cleanly and stays where you leave it.
Every planed edge is sanded smooth and eased, ready for decorating. Doors come primed. Painting is not included, and plenty of customers do it themselves.

What it costs
We publish our prices. What it costs to replace an internal door sets out the figure for a door fitted into a sound frame, and what a new frame, architrave or a non-standard opening adds. The price estimator will give you a figure for your own doors.
If you have several doors done on the same visit, each one is priced the same.
Why we only fit solid core
A hollow door is two thin skins over a cardboard lattice. It dents, the hinge screws work loose, and it is replaced, never repaired. We do not fit them, even if asked. The difference in price is small against fitting the same door twice.
Coventry houses and door sizes
In the interwar houses across Earlsdon, Styvechale and Cheylesmore, openings were built to the sizes of the day and have settled since. If an opening is within 15mm of a current standard size, the door is trimmed to suit. Further out than that, the choice of door narrows or the frame is packed out, and that is decided at the visit, not guessed from a photo.
On the postwar estates, the doors being replaced are often the original hollow flush ones on two hinges. The frames there are usually sound, which makes it one of the simpler jobs we do.
Shared houses and fire doors
A solid core door is not a fire door. Shared houses, and some doors in a house on three floors, usually need a certified fire door with the right seals and fittings. That is a different product. We quote it separately and say so.
Old doors and waste
Taking the old doors away is not part of the job as standard. We can do it, as a priced line on the quote.
We visit before we quote
A photo shows the style of door. It does not show whether the frame is square or the opening is a standard size, and those decide the price. The visit takes about half an hour, and the price that follows is fixed and in writing.
