A fence rarely fails all in one go. One post softens at the ground, the panels either side lose their support, and the first strong wind does the rest. Caught at the post, it is a small job.

Long gardens and long runs
The interwar semis across Styvechale, Cheylesmore, Finham and Coundon tend to have long, narrow gardens, which means a long boundary on each side. Those runs seldom need replacing in one go. We test every post, tell you which sections are sound, and price the repair section by section so you can do it in stages if you prefer.
Terraces, entries and rear gates
On the terraced streets, the way to the back garden is often a shared entry or through the house itself. Panels and posts have to come in that way, which changes the time and the price, and we work it out at the visit. The gate onto a rear entry is also the one that matters most for security, so it is hung to close properly and bolt, not just to fill the gap.
Whose fence is it
We can tell you which side is likely to be yours, but we will not decide it for you and we will not get between neighbours. If it is unclear, that conversation comes first, and we are happy to wait.
Let houses
Where the house is let, we take the instruction from the landlord or agent, arrange access with the tenant, and send one invoice to whoever instructed us.
Waste
Taking out old panels and posts produces waste. Removing it is priced separately and shown on the quote, never assumed and never hidden in the total.
Repair or replace
Where a fence is past repairing, patching it is money spent twice. We price the repair and the replacement side by side and tell you honestly how many winters the repair is likely to give you. The choice is yours.
